Vigil in Solidarity with the Families of Guantànamo Prisoners and Two New Videos to Promote the Closure of Guantànamo
When: Monday (June 17, 2013), 6PM
Where: Washington Square Park, New York, NY
What: Vigil in solidarity with actions in Yemen to protest indefinite detention at the prison at Guantànamo Bay.
In addition,
The Blue Lantern Project, along with Witness Against Torture has produced the following videos and songs to promote the immediate closure of the prison at the U.S. naval base in Guantànamo Bay, Cuba. Please consider sharing these as widely as possible.

A few facts about GTMO:

166 men are being held at Guantànamo.

Most of them have never been charged with a crime.

86 have been cleared for release.

At least 104 are on hunger strike.

41 men are being force-fed, 4 of them in the hospital.

The World Medical Association and American Medical Association consider force-feeding a violation of medical ethics.
